Mike Poss

Michael Poss is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with a proven track record of success at Shapes Supply Company. As the principal and later COO, he strategically navigated the company through economic downturns, including the housing crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, by adapting product offerings, optimizing supply chain relationships, and expanding into new market segments. Under his leadership, Shapes Supply tripled its sales within three years, increased gross profit margins from 27% to 34%, and established a high-margin cabinet business targeting independent contractors. He played a key role in securing vendor partnerships, implementing strategic procurement initiatives with international suppliers, and driving inventory efficiencies to improve cash flow and profitability. His ability to analyze market conditions and pivot the business model ensured continued growth, even during challenging economic climates.

In the multifamily arena, Poss spearheaded the expansion of Shapes Supply’s product lines to cater to large-scale residential developments, leveraging his expertise in vendor negotiations and sales strategy to secure major project opportunities. His work with Wellborn Cabinets positioned the company as a leader in contractor partnerships, aligning over 60 independent contractors in Chicagoland alone—the largest program of its kind in the U.S. By broadening customer segments and creating tailored solutions for the multifamily market, he strengthened revenue streams and positioned Shapes Supply as a trusted industry supplier. Poss’s strategic vision and hands-on leadership are backed by a Bachelor of Science in Business from Marquette University, providing him with the financial acumen and business expertise to drive sustainable growth in competitive markets.

Joanna Ziemba

Joanna Ziemba is a dynamic construction project manager specializing in multi-family residential developments. With a strong background in contract negotiation, budget management, and subcontractor coordination, she has successfully led projects ranging from $300K to $3M. She ensures developments are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with municipal regulations. Known for her strong negotiation skills, Joanna secures favorable contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors while maintaining high-quality standards. Her resourcefulness allows her to anticipate and resolve project challenges efficiently, ensuring smooth execution from inception to completion. Skilled communicator and relationship builder, she fosters collaboration among stakeholders, creating a positive and productive work environment. Holding an MBA in Strategic Management from DePaul University and a BA in Business Administration from National Louis University. Joanna blends business expertise with hands-on construction leadership. Fluent in English, German and Polish, she is based in Arlington Heights, IL, and is dedicated to optimizing multi-family construction processes to enhance efficiency, profitability, and long-term success.
